For more information about the configuration of these fields, please review the “Creating an Order Discount” or “Creating a Line Item Discount” General Section videos. The main difference is we’ll choose the “Subscription sales only” transaction type. the general section of the discounts configuration page is exactly the same as creating a line item order or shipping discount and that will give the discount a name, select the applies to FX and type Fields. As mentioned earlier, there are some differences in the fields available in this section depending on whether we selected “Line Item” or “Order” in the “Applies To” field of the “General Section”. We’ll start with the configuration for a “Line Item” Subscription discount, then come back to the “Order” setup. Next, we’ll configure the “Subscription Discount Conditions” section. As mentioned earlier, there are some differences in the fields available in this section depending on whether we selected “Line Item” or “Order” in the “Applies To” field of the “General Section”. We’ll start with the configuration for a “Line Item” Subscription discount, then come back to the “Order” setup. The first thing we need to define is when the discount will apply.“Initial opt-in only” will apply to the initial order only.“For continuity orders only” will apply only to continuity orders.“Both”, as the name implies, will apply to initial and continuity orders. The first thing we need to define is when the discount will apply. “Initial opt-in only” will apply to the initial order only. “For continuity orders only” will apply only to continuity orders. “Both”, as the name implies, will apply to initial and continuity orders. For an “Item-level” discount, the “Subscription frequency” toggle will be available. We’ll toggle this option “On” if we want to specify a required “Frequency” for the subscription, and then select at least one frequency from the dropdown that this discount will be valid for. For an item level discount, the subscription frequency toggle will be available. We’ll toggle this option on if we want to specify a required frequency for the subscription. And then select at least one frequency from the drop-down that this discount will be valid for If we selected to apply the discount to either “Continuity Orders” or “Both”, then the “Continuity Recurrence” settings will be available in addition to the “Frequency”.We can enable “Nth purchase in a subscription” to specify which continuity order the discount can be applied to. For example, we could apply it to every “third” order.Alternatively, we can enable “Continuity Recurrence Settings” to configure it as a series of “Recurring” discounts on continuity orders. In this case, we’ll specify the required “Start Point”, which is the first continuity order that the discount can be applied to; the optional “Recurrence” rate; and/or the “End Point”, which is the final continuity order that the discount can be applied to. For instance, we could configure a discount to begin taking effect on the “2nd” continuity order and recur every other order until the “10th” order is reached. If we do not provide a “Recurrence”, then the discount will apply to every continuity order. If we do not provide an “End Point”, then the discount will never terminate. As we continue to configure the Subscription discount, we’ll get a summary of what the discount will “Apply To” at the bottom of the section. If we selected to apply the discount to either continuity orders or both, then the continuity recurrent settings, will be available, in addition to the frequency. We can enable ninth purchase in a subscription to specify which continuity order the discount can be applied to. For example, we could apply it to every third order. Alternatively, we can enable continuity recurrence settings to configure it as a series of recurring discounts on continuity orders. in this case, we’ll specify the required start point, which is the first continuity order that the discount can be applied to the optional recurrence rate, and or the endpoint, which is the final continuity order that the discount can be applied to For instance, we could configure a discount to begin taking effect on the second continuity order and recur. Every other order until the 10th order is reached if we do not provide a recurrence, then the discount will apply to every continuity order. If we do not provide an endpoint, then the discount will never terminate. As we continue to configure, the subscription discount will get a summary of what the discount will apply to at the bottom of the section. For “Line Item” discounts, we’ll configure the “Discount Conditions” section similarly to “One-Time” purchase discounts. This was discussed in the “Creating a Line Item Discount - Discount Conditions” video. For line, item discounts, we’ll configure the discount conditions section. For “Order” Subscription discounts, the configuration is largely the same. We’ll still need to select when the discount applies, and if we’ve selected “For continuity orders only” or “Both”, we’ll need to set the “Recurrence” logic. However, we will not have the option to set a “Subscription Frequency”.As mentioned earlier, we are required to set the “Price List” associated with the Subscription products’ pricing in the “Target Criteria” section. All other “Order” configurations can be done similarly to what was discussed in the “Creating an Order Discount” videos. For order subscription discounts the configuration is largely the same. We’ll still need to select when the discount applies, and if we’ve selected for continuity orders, only or both will need to set the recurrence logic. However, we will not have the option to set a subscription for frequency. As mentioned earlier, we are required to set the price list associated with the subscription products pricing in the Target criteria section. All other order configurations can be done. Similarly, to what was discussed in the creating an order discount videos. When we have configured all required and optional sections as needed, we’ll click “Save” to save the discount.
