“Search Term Redirects” allow merchandisers to send a shopper to a unique URL based on specific search terms. When a user enters a search term or phrase, they will be redirected to the new URL when they press “Enter” or click the “Search” button.In this video, I’m going to demonstrate how to create and manage “Search Term Redirects”. “Search Term Redirects” allow merchandisers to send a shopper to a unique URL based on specific search terms. To navigate to “Search Term Redirects”, in the left menu, on the “MAIN” tab, click “Search”, then click “Term Redirects”. Similar to other configurations, “Search Redirects” are created inside of a “Parent Catalog” and “Site” combination. As mentioned earlier, existing redirects are listed on the menu page for each unique URL. Redirects can be configured for a “single term” or “multiple terms”. When a “single” search term is used, that text is displayed in the list. When “multiple” search terms are used, they may be viewed by clicking the dropdown on the left and expanding the list. All redirects are created with an automatic status of “Active”. To toggle a redirect entry between “Active” and “Inactive”, click directly on the “Active” or “Inactive” button under “Status”.
